A Little Visitor

This little frog turned up in the bathroom a few months back.  I found him a few days later

on the floor looking a bit fragile and dehydrated so I took him outside and put him in the birdbath to rehydrate him.  I was telling my neighbours my good deed and they had a chuckle as I probably provided a bird with his dinner.  I was horrified as I really hadn't thought about that - I was just looking for a pond for my little friend.  Anyway he wasn't in the birdbath the next time I looked!!!

Listening to the rain

Very wintery weather and the rain is falling on the tin roof.  Over the last few weeks I have enjoyed trying new recipes and had so much fun.   Some photos later.  Tonight my neighbours came to dinner (I owed them a few dinners as they regular have me over for evening supper).  I tried the pea soup recipe I saw on my sister-in-law's fridge!   It was so easy and lovely with a mint pistou on the top!   Also I did flathead (the only fish available at the butchers) Thai Fishcakes!  Very nice and had it with sweet chili sauce and green's from my neighbours' garden.  And to follow -----Amber's little healthy almond ball little surprises.  Very healthy - just made from almond meal, egg, honey and some cranberries and dark chocolate.  They went down very well with some local honey and walnut ice cream.  Three new recipes in the one day!!!!
Last week I did some almond biscuits, carrot cake and also Vietnamese chicken salad!  And my niece"s recipe for Thai Roasted Pumpkin Soup was amazing.  I really enjoy cooking!!!

Getting there

Well finally a post!!    I am attempting to play with layout and theme template so will eventually have a blog that looks OK.   There will be some images and ramblings about cooking and photography and health and environmental issues.  A work in progress......
